I just got done watching "The Last Unicorn(1982)" with my 5 year old daughter. As always I was mostly thinking of vintage r/c the whole time. Being from 1982 it was true animation, not the computer based stuff you see today(although I do love that). Some of the frames were just visionary.
Of course that led me to think about the most beautiful paint ever laid down on lexan, polycarbonate or plastic.
Let's see some examples. Your own or anyone's. All styles welcome please.
Not mine obviously.
Another, not mine. (Eau Rouge)

That's a great movie. I saw it many times when I was a younger lad, and even a few times as an adult. I haven't seen it in quite a while though, I'll have to watch it again soon. Thanks for the reminder!
I'm glad you posted that pic because after watching it I assumed that maybe the Red Bull energy drink name was linked to the red bull in the movie, but they really don't reference each other in any way. Or at least they didn't in the 5 minutes I spent searching it after I watched the movie. Anyway, I agree it is a pretty cool movie. Much darker than the mainstream animated movies made today.

Mr Lexan hooked me up with a sweet new Baja Bug body. I love r/c baja bugs, Sand Scorchers, Monster Beetles, RC10 Scorchers, whatever, I've always liked the classic baja bug body on an r/c car. So, I've owned quite a few over the years. I've still...

PM Mr Lexan, he'll be able to hook you up. I think he sells them on ebay too.
Ok probably not! I am sure 20 bodies doesn't make me Mr. Lexan Jr. or even Mr. Lexan the Third, but I had to sort things out because of recent sales of my Protech II's on ebay, so I took a picture. None of them are the new copies... What do you guys...

Hey guys, what are your suggestions for reshaping lexan bodies? Because of the mid motor position in my RC10.44 build, the motor hits the side of the body. I was thinking of covering the motor with 1/8 foam, putting the body on, then using a heat...

Lexan is usually stretched by first molding then it cools & hardens... then if you reheat it without any support, it shrinks - it wants to go back to a flat sheet!
Don't bother with heatgun, too much spot heat & overspray - it always ends in tears....
Here's my first attempt at a new body for my RC10T. The guys at the hobby shop said they dont make flat paint for lexan bodies. So I painted on the outside to get it as flat as possible. I know the paint to get jacked up but I dont care. I washed...

You can move the front and rear.
I knew there had to be a better way. Oh well next time I know what to use now. Thanks
I wasn't real sure where to put this, but I figured here would be a good place.
I've found that a good polish for lexan bodies is Arctic Cat Hood & Windshield Cleaner/Polish for snowmobiles. I've cleaned up some pretty good scratches and scuffs...
