Wow!!! This buggy looks superb and should be banned as its car porn. Nice work.
Now all I gotta do is sell my Lazer ZX-S so I can do this myself as well.

Re: RC10 B1.5
well, the ebay truck showed up the other day. it's a little beat up but not too bad. the nose plate is trash, and for how hard it's bent, i can't believe the chassis is fine. it's as if the nose brace tubes weren't on. but hey, i'm not gonna complain.
the trans is in awesome shape. other than rebuilding the diff, all of the other parts can be reused (including the bearings). i might use the b4 topshaft in this though. i haven't decided yet.
the tires/rims are new. i think they're from a duratrax evader truck. not sure though. it has a pretty nice set of traxxas shocks on it too.

Re: RC10 B1.5
And............................speaking of that trans.............................you can use the Robinson GT aluminum diff gear and the Robinson Hardened GT idler ( and the FT T4 outdrives ) for your bulletproof tranny

Re: RC10 B1.5
spent a little time today with the drill press and the dremel getting b1.5 #2 on it's way.
i still have to get the scratches sanded out of the tub and motor guard, and finish them off for anodizing.

Re: RC10 B1.5
i had a brainstorm the other day about altering the rear tower. a couple pages back, i show pics of the body notched out to make clearance for the shock tower. a much as i would like to make a new "direct fit" body, it's not gonna happen at this time. right now, it'll be a lot more cost effective to make a rear tower that will work with the viper body.
brian helped me out again altering my original. here's where its at right now:
now, i'm not overly happy about the way it looks. i think it looks like a cattle head laying out in the desert, brian thinks it looks more like mickey mouse's flattened head.
but as long as it works, that's all that matters to me for my runner. with the top middle section removed, the body will sit on top of the rear tower, so no need to notch the body. because of that, it didn't leave much material at the "ears" where the shocks mount. i thought it might be a little too fragile. so i asked brian to add another row of holes under the originals. this did 2 things. helped to add more material at the "ears", hopefully giving them more strength. it will also give me the option to run 1.18 b4 rear shocks using the lower holes.
