Brushless ESC And Motor Recommendations (cheap)
Well i ordered myself a 2.4ghz Flysky radio for $35 bucks and the firmware updater, along with 10x recievers at $7 a peice.
i was running a m8 that has the spektrum module, and was looking to upgrade, but airtronic's new m11 is already 2.4ghz and not compatible with spektrum, and i find myself either having to go with a $300 spektrum or a used m11... so i said screw it all im not paying $50-90 dollars for spektrum recievers anymore.
Anyway i am looking for purchase some brushless combo's both motors and ESC's, sick of spending crazy money on that stuff too.
I own a EZRUN already i got for around $100 for both, and wasnt impressed with it a bunch, maybe i got a bad unit, seems to be like a delay when i punch it, like wheels spin slow for a half second then go. With my castle creations, when i punch it, it goes.
i was looking at something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/Sensorless-Brushless-Motor-17-5T-Bullistorm-ESC-60A-/320722461582?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aac8c638e
for around $60 bucks figured what have i got to lose.
anyone have any other recommendations, even if its over $100 a bit i would rather get something better and tested

Re: Brushless ESC And Motor Recommendations (cheap)
I have been eyeing this for some time......I figure the 3900kv motor would be a decent all around motor for cruising and bashing around along with good run time. It's LRP/associated of course, so I'd expect there to be decent performance. I have not heard many people running them, so I really have no idea how well they work.

and for the same price, you can select up to a 6100kv motor, so I would think you can find a happy medium with one of those motors....

i looked at those, but i thought $109 was expensive since they are the models that come with the RTR b4 kit that only costs $220 lol. i have seen them run in the rtr's and they look like a decent motor etc.

yeah, i agree that over a hundred seems high for any of these systems, to be honest, with the price of high power mosfets in the dirt, and basically the stator is the windings now, the armature is simple, this stuff should be dirt cheap even for good quality parts....I dunno....

yea they have been slowly dropping, and dropping, but still linger between $50-80 dollars. i just want some cheap units to outfit some cars and beat the crap out of them, something with a lipo cutoff, and something that is decent. those 2.4ghz flysky for 7 bucks i think are great. i hope everyone uses them and forces the other companies to drop their prices
Re: Brushless ESC And Motor Recommendations (cheap)
the link in the first post is a re-branded hobbywing ezrun. (lots of rebranded ez's out there)
IMO the ezrun is still the best buy for cheap bl systems.
which ezrun have you had? i've had good luck with the 60amp 4000kv combo's, i run 2 of them in my race clod with no issues.
i'm using a 60amp xerun in my b4, with a novak 8.5t motor, car is awesome.
you could always try a leopard system, but they make ez's seem high tech.

Re: Brushless ESC And Motor Recommendations (cheap)
I have a few Ezrun(Turnigy) systems, a 35amp and two 60amp. These are among the best in the bang for the buck class. I have only one issue with them. If you brake two times quickly the car stops dead! Just remember not to brake hard two times in a row.
As far as your acceleration problem, have you checked the punch setting with the programming card? Also don't forget to setup the esc to your radio. You must program neutral, full and reverse or forward/brake only.
