Re: brushless esc and motor help!
I run all EzRun ESC, 35A and 60A with Tacon and EzRun motors. I keep all motors less than 4000KV running with 2 cell lipos this way I don't over stress my vintage toys. I currently race with an '85 RC10 A stamp with a 2500KV Ezrun motor and 35A ESC from Hobbypartz and do very well against the modern stuff geared at 75/30. My RC10T has a Tacon 2950KV motor with the same ESC and it is wicked fast, almost 40mph in no time flat geared at 81/26. Motors and ESCs don't even get hot running 8 min mains on a 1/8 scale dirt track. Enjoy this craziness bro.

Re: brushless esc and motor help!
Unfortunately I don't know what gearing is on my RC10T, it was using a "Reedy Sonic R" brushed motor previously. I put the following into it:
- Turnigy Trackstar 60A ESC
- EZ-Run Brushless motor 3900kV 10T
- Gens Ace 2s 5000mAh 40C hardcase battery pack
Top speed is somewhere north of 30mph, probably between 30 and 35. One of these days I'll take it to a track to see how it does, but I'm fearful of breaking something on it that can't be easily replaced.

Re: brushless esc and motor help!
I generally don't gear for speed, but for temps specially the lower KV motors like the 17.5 and 13.5 which I use mainly. As I mentioned, my local track is 1/8th scale and jumps are huge and far apart, so I gear accordingly. My cars don't have an issue clearing any of the jumps, but the pipes................well, that's a whole other issue.
Gear according to your track layout and watch for temps. Your motor and ESC will tell you what they like, if you just listen. Hope that helps some.
