Lipo cutoff

Just had my first run yesterday with my new B4.1 brushless. It is running the standard Reedy3300kv motor and ESC. How do I know when the low lipo cutoff is active? I was too cautious to run it down too low. Was going forever it seemed.

What does it do to let me know it's out ?

Since you bought a brushless buggy, the factory tuning should have included lipo cutoff. Go through the manual for the esc and follow the instructions, step 1, battery management system. You eventually have to learn how to adjust all the parameters of your buggy anyway, so you might as well play with it until you can make it do as you wish with out the manual. It will definitely come in handy when you get to wow a novice with your vast knowlege of the factory electronics..

Yes I can use the setting procedure for the ESC. I figured that all out in 5 mins. I just don't know what the indication is when driving to inform me it's finished. Does the ESC interrupt?

My SC10 should have the same ESC that your B4.1 came with. When mine is low it shuts down for a few seconds. Almost like the reverse to forward stop. I usually run it until it starts to slow down then I pull it off the track.

I have two different brushless esc's and both shut down the drive for a couple of seconds but the steering still operates normally. You will also notice a definite loss of power as the cutoff point gets near. If ever you are unsure, just take the car off and check the voltage of the battery with a meter so you know what the voltage is around cutoff time..

Can you also use a LiPo cutoff alarm if you wanted or are those only for brushed stuff?
