No finish passes, feeds cranked up, chamfering operations skipped, and no threaded mounting holes.

Weight comes in at 34 grams without the dowels, 35.4ish with them.

I'll be adding a fingernail-lip to aid in case separation (a gift card helps out quite a bit as well), it takes just as much force with all 8 dowels as it does with just 3, mostly because the halves can't tip.

As you can see, it's already branded as a sample.

Should have it ready to go onto someones rig soon.

EDIT: And yes, I botched the engraving of the ratio, should be 2.25, but some idjit fat-fingered the keyboard...

Ever heard of positive reinforcement ?

PS
I could see every blemish on the 2592x1935 photo,
that's why I yanked on your "perfectionist" chain

Morten

PPS
you should snap a few photos, or shoot a video, during the outer case machining

Looking swell. Can't wait to see the final piece after any tweaks are made. I see many cool aluminum parts in the future Walt!

A perfect place for some 64 pitch internal gears and light weight out drives.

Chatter marks or not, sign me up for 2!

Hi Walt,

awesome outcome, .. so when can we expect the mass production of the casing? :D
just curious though, would the bearing when its time for routine maintenance be easy to
pull out? specially for the topshaft and center gear. Coz on a stock tranny it was a bit tight
(unless its really beat up) to remove the bearing ( opposite the tophaft hole).

any figures yet on how much this piece of art would cost? hope not that high...

Edit: just read thru the pages and price was there., BTW, thanks Paul. my Bad.

Thanks,

Jun.
