Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
The price is very reasonable. If I have the money kicking around when you start selling them I will definitely buy one.
This summer if you're available and willing I might have a small R/C item or two I'd like to have produced in a quantity under 50. It would be largely dependent on funds again.

Might be too late to ask, but what about aluminum steering bellcranks? They are on ebay I know, but I really liked the ones Atlas sold and he has completed his run of them.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Guys, I'm sorry to report I've had a busy and tiring week at work. Monday I leave for the field for a week. So I've not been able to link up with Walt. I am going to bring him my Kranzel Terminator as someone had mentioned a similar bulkhead and now bell cranks. There is no question Walt can get the job done and he's more than welcome to use anything I have to help y'all out. I just wanted to notify you that the delay is partially my fault right now.

Hey, John, not your fault or mine that our schedules aren't linking up, it's just life.
I'm sure after I get back from Cali and my sched is free we'll be good.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Looking like I'm getting out of work late these days. I'll be heading to Rochester friday and should be able to swing by. Probably won't be able to go over much but we can handle the chat chit on here. I'm trying to get out of work by 5pm and leaving the house about 6. Think I have to be at the airport by 9. Or I could simply head straight to your house from mine. I might have some questions for ya in the future about my project. Small stuff that is pretty simple compared to what your thinking of putting together. But we'll see.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Sounds like a plan, I'll be home tonight for sure.
Of course don't rush or anything, if you need the time for other stuff by all means use it.
Settling back into the daily grind on my end, sleep sched has been whack since my flight in monday... And the worst thing is I had it dialed in perfectly before the trip...

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Just a heads up for those keeping track or following this thread. Currently down the road from Walt at airport. After picking up my son, I'll be meeting with Walt. I've packed up the Cadillac 6 gear and a Kranzel terminator. It's a B3 based I believe. I haven't torn down tranny but hoping its a 2:4. I've also packed up a 2.25 and 2.6 T4 transmission along with some vintage yellow handled Allen drivers. The terminator has aluminum bellcranks so Walt can get an idea and compare versus original RC10. The terminator also has bulkhead similar to what others were looking for. Only thing I don't have to give Walt is an old Stealth RC10 pan. If someone has one, I'll gladly purchase if reasonable. Just needs to be straight in the rear mounting area. I am excited to see what Walt comes up for you guys. Who knows, I might get off the welfare just to do a heavy metal RC10.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
The only thing we mainly care about trans wise is having the original Stealth case halves reproduced in aluminum. The best thing would be for someone to mail him new in package ones. This way it will be certain that there are no irregularities that a used case could potentially have. I'm surprised no one has stepped up yet to do that. If I had the money I would buy a new pair myself to send to him.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Sorry, I gave him what I have.
The 2.25 transmission I have is not an original white gearbox. It's a black version. Again, I didn't have a stealth chassis so I hope it will work.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
I'm still thinking it would be nice to have an old looking 6 gear case running modern stealth gears inside...but that's just me and wishful thinking. lol. If it all works out, I might hire Walt to make some replacement parts for my KRP cars.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Met with Johnboy yesterday, he's loaning me his gold pan with a 6 gear, and his graphite chasis car, as well as a 2.25 stealth gearbox and a 2.6 gearbox.(sorry, transmission, I know...)
I've had the 2.25 apart, looks to be very easy to work with.
Just to be certain, the 2.25 stealth is the one that everyone would like first, correct?
