if i remember correctly, they won't do anything less than a run of 1,000 parts. so, there's the initial $200, plus whatever they're gonna charge for those 1,000 parts.

when i talked to them about this same thing 4-5 years ago, they said they were lucky if they sold 2-3 sets of rc10 arms a month. so in their eyes, it doesn't make good business sense to start remaking a bunch of stuff they'd just end up sitting on for god knows how long.

also, from what i remember, they don't have many of the old molds anymore. so they're definately not gonna get into retooling something to make parts they won't sell.

i even asked them if they'd be willing to do a run of the team car arms they currently offer in black...... but in white. nope, not gonna happen.

I sent them an email asking how much each set would run and if there was a minimum order. Find out tomorrow what they have to say.

Until the SC truck fad dies down I don't think anyone is going to make 2wd buggy parts.

I guess we could all be thankful that they are still producing the team car arms... I just don't get why they couldn't go ahead and run a couple thousand units in white or switch over to white completely. Maybe take the black off the market at the same time so there is no choice for the consumer. Those of us stikk buying RC10 parts, would gladly welcome the white, they could PROBABLY save money on the non-colored nylon molding stock, and those that wanted could always dye them black at home. I mean they already have the white nylon for other CURRENT production stuff - why not??

they need to get rid of the f'n blue they use and stick to black or white. I'd be down for a few sets, but l dont see it happening. someone should just get they copied. It seems easier and cheaper to go cast a few custom bell housings for a car than to deal with some hobby companies about making old parts.

Well so much for that idea. email recieved this morning-

Dear Mr. Nick Cautrell,
Looks like I may have more bad news for you. I couldn't find the molds. I was sure we still had it lying around but no such luck. It looks like they most likely have been recycled. I apologize for the bad news.

Darn. back to ebay

If I can find a resin with comparable properties resin casting wouldn't be difficult or expensive. I've resin cast many things. I'll look into it. A mold can just be created off of an original part.
