I'm seriously looking into the shorty pack, but $100 on a single lipo in todays market is stiff.

I'm hearing there are some other brands that are going to copy the 96mm pack and sell it for a lesser price. I don't know anything about the quality of the other brands. I have 5 of the Xcelorin 96mm packs and they have all been very good. I'm actually running them in my 2wd, Truck, and 4wd at this point. I haven't tried them in the SCT yet. :D

I've seen the post on the Venom lipo, but not due our until late July...

Since you have so many, let me borrow one

I race in a non-boosted 17.5 class, so I am looking to shave as much weight as possible. If I could find a nice high C 2000-2400 pack, I would probably buy it instead. I will continue my search, then probably end up with the Losi pack in the end.

Trinity/ Team Epic is going to have a shorty pack soon also. It will probably be released under the ReVTech name though. The prototype I saw being tested was a 70c!! Ernie is feeling nostalgic and wants to bring some of his old brands back to market.

RevTech was indeed a cool brand back in the day, no doubt!

It wont take long for Horizon to lower the pricing once the venom's and other brands are out.

Cheers

Does anyone know what Spektrum 'shorty' servo that should be run in this car? S6070 perhaps?

Also, I assume this is an xcelorin motor in the back of Truhe's 22, are these available ATM, they look different to the blue ones on the Horizon site...

The motor looks like Team Orion to me, I think most of the team are running Orion until the new Excelorin stuff comes out. Losi is phasing out the old motors and speed controls before they bring out the new stuff.

Yes on the 6070, that's what I'm told they are running if you want to go mid motor and have some more room for your electronics.

I guess the new stuff isnt coming out anytime soon since the team drivers are not using them yet.

I am running rear motor but would still like some more room up front, hence why I'd like a shorty. Are there any disadvantages to this servo being so small in size? The specs still look good.

On a 2wd buggy you won't notice the slightly lower torque a short servo puts out.

I wouldn't be suprised if the new xcelorin stuff is announced very soon. TLR, as you know doesn't like to show their hand until things are ready to go to production. With the internet being the instant information source, manufacturers are being more secretive about new products. I have it from a reliable source that the new stuff is well into development, just not at races where pictures might get leaked out. At the regional level they are being tested as we speak. Don't hold me to that, I'm just telling you what I've heard from a few of my buddies who have been on the B team for awhile.
