hello,

Congrats on the purchase. The royal crusher was my second car after my hornet...and having independent suspension was a great feeling at the time.

When you say half shafts, what do you mean exactly? Are you referring to the axles?

I starting to think not?t The suspension sucks. I had to do some improvements. I can't use the 4wheel steering because the rear tires hit the motor. So I locked it out. The Ripper has more clearance for 4 wheel steering. The halfshafts (dogbones) were missing so I can't run it to see how it preforms. :(

I have to check, but I beleive the dogbones from the hotshot will fit the crusher.

As for the suspension, I replaced the shocks with a set of kyosho platinums...and it worked really nice. The only problem I wound was the change in the camber (positive) when the suspension was compressed. I also had to take out a little bit of the rear steering because it made it very twitchy at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tamiya parts would work--or almost work--on Royal buggies, because the Royal Ripper and Crusher and such were blatant knock-offs of Tamiya buggies. The quality was notoriously inferior, too.

I found a ripper with the entire drive line. :) I got the ripper running and had to do the same thing with the rear steering. I had a bad esc. No reverse. :x I had it for a while?? I think the radio was part to blame. The throttle pot was not centered right. I had problems with it not finding netural on the esc. So I just used another radio. All it needs now is a body kit. I haven't decided if Im goun to run the crusher yet.? I will do some more testing. :) But I m still looking for more parts.
