Thanks for the comments, although I must confess that my wife suggested I try black wheel discs - so its +rep to her for suggesting it!

[quote="jamin"]I finally sprayed up some spare discs this weekend, I went for Neon Red as this was quite a popular colour BITD with these wheels, and also something a little different - metallic black to match the shell, which I actually think works quite well!

Yes it does, the red looks ok but the Black is Outstanding!!!! tell your wife she has a good eye.

Good! Motivation is the key. I must admit the building is more fun that the spraying though.

I still have an original Jammin shell to do, and maybe an xcelerator

Made a nice little score on eBay at the weekend - a NIP hydra drive and a couple of spurs gears to go with it!

All I need to find now is some aluminium or titanium 2-56 screws for it, i did this years ago with some trinity purple screws, it looked ace! :D

Another great score on the 'bay, a full set of XX wheels, for a bargain £6! The ones I have currently weren't new and I had actually boiled the glued tyres off them and so had lost a little colour. These are all nice and bright!

I just need to find a nice new graphite chassis from somewhere!

Excellent purchases Ben! I spotted those wheels too... the same guy had some natural/white ones too, but those seemed to be lacking the lexan disks... talking of which, I see TBG are doing re-pros of the truck disks

I remember those tiny screws in the Hydradrive... bitd I didn't have the correct driver & it was a right pain screwing them in with an allen key :(

Who's TBG? I just bought a set of a couple of sellers in the states, but you can never have enough of them! Hhee

Yes, if you didnt have a proper allen tool, it was a right pain! I built a hydra drive with purple ally screws from Trinity BITD, it looked way cool. I cant find them now though. Unfortunately all my XX spares got stolen at the Batley national all those years ago, including that hydra drive  I even had a 'competition' gearbox, which has all the inner seals on the bearings removed etc, this was swapped in for the big meets.

TBG - Team blue groove... they're a Canadian company making re-pro shells etc - their reputation seems to be a bit mixed as some people have experienced problems with the durability of the polycarb they use, unfortunately I don't have any first hand experience of them.

Yes - I can remember people using different screws in the Hydradrive - including those purple trinity ones which I think came as a complete kit for the car? I've got the blue Associated set to go on mine... which is what I had BITD... but that set didn't include screws for every location.

Getting your gear stolen at Batley was proper rough... I did a couple of Nationals there too - I promise it wasn't me :?

Was the screw set an associated or trinity kit? I seem to recall the AE screws are a darker blue compared to Trinity.

Yeah, I was essentially left with 2 cars and my transmitter. They did my car over completely, I was only away from the car for about an hour - in the restaurant next to the hotel. We were gonna take the other boxes up after that, nothing was on show, it was all locked out of sight in the boot. They even took my parcel shelf, cd changer and headunit.

I was devastated, and havent really driven off-road since. I bought a touring car and raced that, but racing has never been the same since.

Man thats rough... gutted for you :( I can see why such a bad experience would change your enjoyment of our sport/hobby especially when you are at that young age where racing is 'everything' .... to have all your kit stolen would be/was devastating :|

P.S; yes those AE screws were a darker blue than the 'Trinity' blue... but bizarely I don't think Trinity did a blue screw kit - just the purple :?:

The 4hr drive home from Leeds was bad too, no music to listen to, just the sound of my (loud) exhaust humming behind us, in an empty car, not nice. To top if off it was my first car and I had not had it long. Life sucks sometimes.

Anyway....

Cheers Dan, I might go hunting, or maybe some titanium ones, I dont think lunsford do any though.

I scored some NIP Trinity hydra drive screws recently, so I can build up a wicked looking hydra drive!! :D

Question is do I fill it up or not - it'll never get used though...
