Tamiya F201 Indy Car

Post by nvxwax »

Well i got this from a very cool guy in Germany, I seen Paul building an F1 car and was hooked, I had to have one for the collection.

I set out to find a unique F1 car, most of them were about the same (I could not afford a Serpent F180 :( ), Anyway i found a picture of a F201 on Google and had to have one, They are not very hard to find but some of the prices i have seen on eBay for a NIB kit were crazy. I got this one with shipping from Germany for less then any NIB kids on eBay.com

The car is 4wd, with a sport tuned Tamiya motor, The kit comes with two bodies (Carbon-fiber and Clear), but only one set of decals lol, I hope to add a Tamiya adspec radio system when i can find one at a good price. :?: Does Tamiya make radios anymore? :?:

Anybody that has any F201 hopups they do not want, id like to get everything made for this car, any manufacturer.

Well here are some pics, Hope you like it (I still have to paint the driver, that's a summer job).

Sweet looking car. I remember wanting one of these as a kid. As far as your requests, I am not of much help.

They sure have come a long way technology wise!

I've been nonchalantly looking to get a Road Wizard.

I think those are under-rated. I really like the 4WD setup. Lotta junk stuffed into a small package.

Do a search for F1 sponsors/sponsers (yes, intentionally mispelled) on ebay. Look for the sellers out of Japan. The market for F1 is bigger over there and there are lots of great sets available from the east.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

I used to race F201 F1 cars in parking lot races against my buddies a few years back. They are great cars and can be tuned to perform nearly as well as any touring car. They are a blast. Mine was the first version, the F2002 Ferrari. For a while Formula 1 r/c had tons of hop up parts and real F1 decals, but I don't know if they are still around or not.
