Kyosho Target Scotch Indy Car

Post by Dangeruss »

In 1993 Kyosho released a new 1/10 2wd electric race car in the form of the Target Scotch Lola T9300. Not based on any preexisting platform the T9300 was designed as an entry level model and featured a double deck plastic chassis, fixed upper and lower a-arm coil over kingpin front suspension, adjustable tie rods mounted directly to the servo and a fiberglass plate coil sprung t-bar rear suspension. Rearward of the transverse battery mount the supplied Lemans Stock 05 motor was bolted to a plastic motor pod and used a 48-pitch pinion & spur direct drive transmission equipped with a bevel gear differential to spin its steel axle. Pre-trued medium compound foam tires were wrapped around metallic finished plastic wheels. The kit was finished off with a pair of molded plastic wings, a clear lexan Lola style body made by Andy's RC Products and included an Autographics decal sheet. Not included was the required electronic speed controller, batteries and radio system:

Sorry I didn't see the 2008 post. I literally have no idea what this is worth and I have 19 other R/C's. sounded like a good question to me, you are missing the point that the risk is all on the seller to trust a comment on a social media post. There should be no inherent risk there. I would have expected a "I'd try to get xxxx amount or similar". I may have sold it tomorrow for a hundred buck and come to find its worth 1000. There are NO posts on Ebay, I looked. I may have the only new in box so I figured i'd try a RC10 page with people that like and know Kyosho. I am a Tamiya, Axial and Traxxas owner. Thanks for the reply.

My apologies that you are not satisfied. That was in an obscure location.

I remember these fondly as they came out when I started in the hobby grade side of R/C. I wanted one but it wouldn't be all that practical to run on anything but a prepared track. Anyway, it's great that you still have one that's new in the box. It's highly unlikely that yours is the only one left this way as they were mass-produced of course, but still really cool!

It's not really possible to accurately put a value on vintage R/C models due them being worth what someone is willing to pay since there's no price guide to go by. I will say that the prices of this stuff have become completely ridiculous though so it's a seller's market. I'd list it auction style on eBay for the lowest amount I'd be happy with, and let it go from there. If you don't get any bids then you know it was likely too high.
