Sand Scorcher 2011 VONATS build
Decided to run the Sand Scorcher at the VONATS this year instead of the Pajero. It is going to be mostly stock, except for the VW Bug body from Mr.Lexan, and the handout motor at the race.
Can't wait to start the build.

Re: Sand Scorcher 2011 VONATS build
New rules make it possible for the Sand Scorcher to run with original RC-10s.
Classic
Limited to "non-pro" and entry level cars (Tamiya Hornet, Mauri Ninja, Royal Ripper for example) and older "race" buggies (original RC10, Ultima, Scorpion, Astute, etc). Race buggies must be run in original configuration (tranny, suspension, original size tires.
All 1/10 Buggies, 2wd or 4wd, 2ws or 4ws allowed
Handout motors only
Radio gear "electronics" are open.
Tires/wheels are open (see rules above for race buggies)
7.4v Li-Po batteries are allowed.
If you think about it, the transmission in the Sand Scorcher is an early version of the Stealth, so with that reasoning, I should be able to beat the 6 gears

That's a shame, do you put them in a different class so the RC10s and JRXs have a chance of winning?kaiser wrote:thats never going to happen, besides srb's run in the classics class.Synergy wrote:I so want to see the video of a Sand Scorcher headng up a field of 10s and JRXs

One day I'm going to do it, I'll have to bring the wife so she can do 5th Avenue whilst I play toy cars, but at the moment the 17 month old says nobearrickster wrote:I am booking a hotel room I will split it with youSynergy wrote: It's all tooooooooo much, who's going to put me up, I'm booking my flights now

Re: Sand Scorcher 2011 VONATS build
I'm looking forward to racing my Scorcher against the others and the RC10s. With the taller kit gearing it's got plenty of speed, it's kind of a handful. I put a ball diff in mine, I'm ready to race!

I'm sure the grandparents would love to watch the little one while mom and dad take a much needed vacation to the states.Synergy wrote:One day I'm going to do it, I'll have to bring the wife so she can do 5th Avenue whilst I play toy cars, but at the moment the 17 month old says nobearrickster wrote:I am booking a hotel room I will split it with youSynergy wrote: It's all tooooooooo much, who's going to put me up, I'm booking my flights now

Re: Sand Scorcher 2011 VONATS build
So far we have 3 SRBs showing up. This is going to be great!
The wife just cleaned the table, then I showed up with my Sand Scorcher.
