Careful! The XX-4's are an addictive car!
You have a great collection of parts there including some nice trinity goodies too. Make sure you replace the belts and pullies if the cars have been sitting for a long time! The belts turn to dust over a significant period of time and will make a mess!

Time to open and check the condition of the belts as what most of the guys was so concern about this. Its true for most of the months sitting in the shelf they deteriorate

I found these front side belts and rear belts from Tough Racing its made of Kevlar im certain this is more durable than the Losi OEM belts.

Re: Losi XX-4 from a friend!
Yes, the Losi belts deteriorate something fierce. When I started campaighning a XX4 a few years ago, I installed a set of NOS eurethane belts (red and black I believe). I had yet to run the car, and the belts stripped! No kidding, I was just checking diff adjustment, and it pulled the teeth off of the belt. I had to dissasemble the tranny and clean all the parts. The eurethane was soft, like an uncured rubber. You could scrape it off with your fingernail! I ordered new belts from their (then recent) re-release of parts, and they were fine (green I believe). I think they were just low quality belts, as I have had eurethane belts from SDP that are 20+ years old, and are good as new. -Jeff

Re: Losi XX-4 from a friend!
I was asked on the other forum about the red rear belt installed on my car they say that it was last seen used by Jukka, during the off road Euros back in 2005, Jukka was using red/orange belt on his XX4. I think it was quite the last time he use his XX4 for a major event.
And it seems that i have that Red/Orange color belt instead of green
i dont have any idea where did the first owner got that belt????

Red belt was from Team Losi, I have to check mine NIP one to advise about an eventual special part number.

Planning to test the 3rd XX4 with the 13.5T Brushless system with the lipo battery installed on the left side, looks cool but requires longer wires though!
