Looking for some brushed motor recommendations
I could use some recommendations on some older quality brushed motors. Looking for a few for the rc10s and rc10t, and possibly something for my lunchbox. I'd like a few wild and a few intermediate motors.
2x rc10 A stamped, rc10t, rc18t, 3x rc10gt tamiya stuff - fox, lunchbox re-release, Custom chevy clod crawler, cc-01 pajero, 2x cc-01, kt full option, and 3 HL tanks. Looking for a rc250 and rc500
Re: Looking for some brushed motor recommendations
a kyosho magnetic mayhem might work well in your lunchbox. good torque, decent power, durable. they sold zillions so you should be able to find one.
for the rc10 and rc10t, you could make them "all associated" and run some reedy mod motors, either hand wound or machine wound ,whatever you can find. a 12-turn should be pretty powerful in the rc10 but not too maintenance prone, maybe a 14 or 15 turn in the rc10t and gear down a bit to get more punch/torque?

Re: Looking for some brushed motor recommendations
Look over at Stormer hobbies, they have a bunch of motors to pick from and they are all priced very well. You can pick up a 27T Stock motor just to freshen up on your driving and it will give you some decent run time (all depending on other conditions -Battery, Gearing etc.) And then maybe pick up up a 13 - 19T Motor when you want to go a bit faster and are more comfortable. Its just a ballpark, but it may get you off on the right foot.
What Speed control do you have and how are your batteries? Some ESC's can only handle so many winds of Motor.
Here are some motors at Stormer:

Re: Looking for some brushed motor recommendations
I still love my brushed motors in my vintage racers.
I am slowly switching over to the cheap EZ Run motor combo's.
I use good high end speedie's. Like a Novak Cyclone or LRP Quntum Comp 1 or 2.
To get good results you do need a high end speedie. ( a must )
For motors i use Trinty motors like a P- 94,D3, D4, D5. D6 all hand wound mods. I really like a Trinity 19t Chamelon in my vintage 2wd . With good li po's these motors are very quick.
For a truck a 13t Double is just awesome with heaps of torque and top end. I really feel this wind is the best all round motor.. Remember if you don't have a high end speedie your set up will suffer.
As metioned a lathe is a must have as well as brushes . It's a lot of effort .
A 2nd hand Novak speedie and a Good 2nd hand mod motor will cost the same as a Ez Run brushless combo. Thats why im slowing switching over all my vintage runners to brushless . If you are a old racer back in the brushed era like me i had lots of good mod motors at my disposal ..

Re: Looking for some brushed motor recommendations
i can throw in that the fantom racing alloy mod motors are great(the link that drbelleville gave has em on page 2 or 3), my bro has one, and it hasnt let him down yet(maybe 10 packs through it on his t2) and if u wait for holiday specials, they go down on the prices a good 75%.
