No threads in T4.1 Transmission Housing?
No threads in T4.1 Transmission Housing?
The screws for the t4.1 transmission housing are not catching any thread. Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong?
My son just got this for Christmas and is devastated!!
Thanks in advance. We are on page 8 middle step. #6928 just slip right in and out, but #6925 works.

i took a look at your instrutions to see if the design srayed the same as the
rest of the 10ts i have two t3 threes and a original 10t i git for christmas in the mid 90s. the trans case screws go through the case and screw in too the motor plate they can be tricky to get started and they dont have very many threads that come through i would take the plate and try to get screws through that may be somthing blocking the threads hope ever thing goes well and merry christmas

I believe the screws you are refering to are supposed to pass through the tranny housing and bolt to the motor plate. Be careful not to overtighten the srcews so as to not cause the tranny to bind.

Thanks Folks!
You're right, the bolts pass through and thread to the metal motor plate. The directions weren't idiot proof enough I guess.
All we have to do now is finish the shocks, paint the body and rob some electrics from my "vintage" car.

1- use washers behind the tranny screw heads and a tiny tiny tiny drop of threadlock on the plate threads
2- do not, I repeat, DO NOT overtighten them in any manner. the case just needs to be closing, not binding.
3- Just use a tiny bead of grease on the inside part of the "labyrinth" bead of the case to seal it right
