Isn't the claim made by Traxxas, about the Bandits 70mph vxl, on 3s lipos?

Yeah, but they say it does 40mph out of the box on the included NiMH pack.

many different factors....rotor size makes a big difference. the VXL is almost 18mm if I remember right. larger rotor, more torque, more torque taller gears - faster top speed, and good acceleration to boot.

when i want to reference turns to KV, i use the Novak site as a reference. isnt exact for all manufacters, and there are other factors, but it gets me in the ballpark
