I had some RC4wd tires and wheels on my High Lift, they were pretty nice. Softer than the stock Tamiya tires, I'd say they are probably a little better traction-wise. I'd probably stick with 1.9 for scale reasons.

As far as I'm concerned this is the only way to go, but hey what do I know.

They do catch but only on full lock with some articulation, you need some HPI hex drives, I’ll try and find the part number, PM me in a couple of days to remind me if I haven’t got back to you by the end of the weekend.

Synergy, those tires are reproductions? I've been looking on ebay for some nice Bruiser/Blackfoot tires and can't find much. I haven't seen any reproductions of that tire before.
Here's a pic of my old Hilux with the RC4wd wheels and tires.

I can get stock Tamiya Blackfoot wheels and tires here in Korea.

Yes repros, they come up on Ebay from time to time (every couple of weeks), there's none on at the moment, I'll post a link next time I see them.MelvinsArmy wrote:Synergy, those tires are reproductions? Yes they are softer, you need to run foam inserts but on the flip side they have better traction.Lowgear wrote:If I recall correctly those reproduction Bruiser tires are soft compared to the hard originals.

I have 2.2 MudSlingers (Boggers) on my Tamiya CR-01 and they perform well on any surface. They are really soft and I run them without foams.

It's like I've discovered a whole new area of this forum! My first real RC car was a Tamiya Hornet so I guess I shouldn't be so firmly entrenched in the Team Associated camp.
Tamiyadan, I'm loving that rig you have there. You were so right based on the original photos to swap out the wheels and tires. Now I need to go learn more about this Toyota Hi-Lux thing! Jeez.
