any insulation you can add will help with protecting antennas, either fuel tubing, or just specific antenna tube.
the one thing to remember is to not wrap the antenna wire over itself, it needs to be a singular length, not doubled back on itself. You can use a small bobbin to wind up excess wire like a small coil at the base of the receiver, and then extend the rest out across the chassis, etc etc etc......
