JG dirt oval prototype 870c-anyone recognize this car?
Hey guys....I have some stuff in the B/S/T section, one lot of parts is a dirt oval conversion for the yokomo 870c, that I bought as part of a lot of stuff.(missing wheels though)
the car came partially assembled(or disassembled), and had a photo negative that was sent along with it of a fully assembled car. this was supposedly a JG dirt oval prototype, used around I guess 1989 at the JG oval nats maybe? Other than the parts I have up for sale, and wheels, the rest of the car was stock 870c.
here is the body: anyone have any info on it?

I still keep some parts for 870C
JG 870C to truck conversion parts
including front bumper with body post, rear body post, fiber glass thick front shock tower, A&L truck wheels for yokomo,I think it can use RC10 Truck body on 870C

crusaderlyf, thanks for those pictures! The chassis I have is a different composite for sure, it looks like the production one uses the standard graphite, this chassis I have has a gold/green sheen to it, some other composite, but it looks almost identical to the one in the package.
thanks for all that info, it's very interesting.....the front truck mount I have bolts to a stock front tower, but that bumper/mount unit is pretty interesting......

That body is the JG Thunderbird dirt oval wedge. Outside of Dahms and Parma, one of the ugliest bodies ever made for oval racing. Just hideous. I had one in about 1987 or '88, maybe earlier. Gave it an equally ugly paint job, too. In my experience, that body is very rare. In all my years of dirt oval body collecting, I have never come across one, and I have acquired some absolute rarities.
Funny thing, it actually looks pretty good on that car.
Nice "Dominator-esque" paint, too.

there's a nip jg 870c oval conversion chassis kit waiting for me somewhere in new york. well, there used to be. it's been so long since he set it aside for me, it's probably gone by now. i forgot all about it until you posted your parts in the bst.
