Question about duratrax bx front rims and nitro rear rims

Post by clhuke64 »

They say that they are nylon - but sure feel like plastic to me. My question is has anyone tryed to dye these wheels a different color ?? How did they turn out if some one has ??

Thanks
Craig

P.S. What are the rubber studded front tires that some of you are using with these wheels ???? Would like something different than the four ribbed front tires.

they might be a nylon/plastic blend but more plastic than nylon. They don't take dye at all...mine didn't anyway. And they are brittle as all beat hell. They make a decent rim for a shelfer or something you aren't gonna be running hard at all but thats about as far as they go. Also, once a tire is glued on its pretty much mated for life. Acetone vapors warp them badly.

I did read that somewhere since I posted here that some of the rims take dye. I can say that the white ones I had didn't take them at all but the blue and the green ones don't look shiny like the whites and yellows do. As far as painting them I couldn't answer that either...not a big painter here unless I have to :?

Should've bookmarked that other forum I was reading that on since I can't find it now  ...
