JRX2 shock questions
Anybody know what new Losi part #'s will fit original JRX2 shocks?
I want to replace the front & rear shock shafts, cartridges, and collars.
I think they are pretty much the same shocks as on the
1/10 Dessert Truck, but I'm not positive. Any info would
help to fix these leaky old SOB's. Thanks.
BTW I wish I could find the conversion that lets you use the original RC10 o-rings and washers. Much better setup IMHO.

Re: JRX2 shock questions
I believe the fronts are .6 and rears are .9, current shock cartridges fit also.

Re: JRX2 shock questions
Yeah, the newer cartridges fit on all the old shock bodies. They seal and build better than any associated shock.

Re: JRX2 shock questions
Thanks again.
JRX2. The one o-ring cartridge was a bad design to say the least. It may reduce friction a bit but it certainly sells much more Losi shock oil.
I don't know about that, but they are pretty good. I've had many less troubles with ASC shocks over the years than the Losi shocks on theBrandon G wrote:Yeah, the newer cartridges fit on all the old shock bodies. They seal and build better than any associated shock.

The newer cartridges are 2 o ring, I believe they changed the design quickly after the single o ring hit the ground - leaking66intheSky wrote:I don't know about that, but they are pretty good. Re: JRX2 shock questions
Yea, it was overdue......but your forgetting Kyosho Gold's. I think they were always the best IMHO.
Don't get me wrong, the Losi shocks on the JRX2 are good, but they leak too much (and I know, I
know....they were designed to do that initially with the single o-ring cartridges and the terrible shock shafts
at that time). But who wants a shock that leaks? I think the smoothness of the KG's was unobtainable on any other
buggy shock of the day, and they didn't leak at all for me when I was runnin them on my RC10 yrs ago.

Re: JRX2 shock questions
I've have AE shocks and the Kyosho Golds now. I used to have the old JRX2 shocks BITD. IMHO the Kyosho Golds from 1988(ish) are still the best shocks. They are just great!
Any one know if the duratrax Kyosho Gold imitation shocks are any good? I almost bought the Duratrax shocks by mistake, I thought they were KGs.

Re: JRX2 shock questions
I still have all of em, and by far the KG's are superior IMHO, even better than the Platinums. Kyosho could never make cars that were up with the RC10's, JRX's, Schumachers, badattitude wrote:I've have AE shocks and the Kyosho Golds now. I used to have the old JRX2 shocks BITD. or Yokomo's back in the day, but for some reason they could make great high end shocks. I've had a few of their cars (Turbo Optima and the first Ultima) and they were OK, but never the
performance of the others (until the higher end Ultimas came out).
PS The Dura-leak KG imitation shocks are junk. They drip like maple trees. The real deal are the KG's. Replacement 3mm o-rings
are easy to find for them (CRP makes nice nitrile ones, #1529 I think, look on eBay) but don't lose the small internal snap ring or the plastic
washers on the bottom when you rebuild!

Cheers
