Literally just done the deal on this one , these thing are toooooooo expensive but can you be a Tamiya collector without a Vintage 3 Speed It's going to get a repaint and some box art decals but apparently the chassis needs no work at all, I think it's gunna get a little clean and polish though. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
One of my mates has had quite a lot of experience restoring these things, his advice was to pay a little more to get a good complete standard one rather than a project cause once you have to go fishing for parts it can be scary money

ARRGh! If thats what you like then by all means go for it, it's just that it's going to look like all the other hundreds of box art bruisers out there.

Tamiyaclub has some alternative color combo box-art decal sheets. I think they have silver and red, so you could do an alternative color and use those decals. It would be cool to do a black body with the silver decals, or a red one or something like that.

that a very nice truck ferretti. in great condition, too.
a lhs of mine has had a new built, never used bruiser in their showcase for as long as i can remember. done up just like the box art. and obviously, it's in mint condition. i'd love to get my hands on it, and i've asked a few times if i could buy it, but so far it's not for sale. not that i could afford to buy it anyway, but i'd love to have it.
A few weeks ago, I was at big national race in Kamloops BC with my son Cody Littau, for MX. So I took along my new little toy and began building it in my trailer in between his races, and at night when there was nothing to do.
My view from the...

I would rather have a Mountaineer to be honest! Don't get me wrong, the re re Bruiser is still cool but it's just not the same as an original. At least when Tamiya re did the Scorcher, it was very close to original looking! I wish they had done the...
I found this gem in an obscure online selling site (obscure for RC) and got a really good deal.
The guy selling it knew what it was worth and I probably paid a little on the high side but it is original and the paintwork is fantastic.
When I arrived...

Didnt even notice the Hilux...you a lucky man! Nice collection of trucks.
I found this 84 or 85 bruiser this last week. Fella bought it second hand in 1985 and only drove it a few times. Lots of original still on the tree spare parts as well. Obviously missing the rear view mirror, but also had the tires changed (dry rot...

thats a real nice find...always wanted a Bruiser..unless i find a super deal i dont see myself geting one..besides the world/ebay has made me dislike these trucks .. its like i dont want to really use a truck that if mint can be worth $2000 or...
I recently picked up this vintage BRUISER 3 speed truck from a friend on this forum. Although the metal parts are showing there age with evidence of oxidation (if thats the term?) and could do with a polish up. From what i am told this truck has...

From what I can see in those pics you are missing the radio box, transmission plugs, shocks and steering linkage.
I think your body is the new Hilux body, judging from the holes drilled for the turn signals. I'm pretty sure the old...
I never put any attention on tamiya 3 speed trucks before. but I got little interest in it after my old friend gave this bruiser to my kids last month.
the first thing I did was putting kimbrough servo saver then I put this RC4WD steering parts....

(same as the hylux?)
Very similar in concept but very few parts interchange between the two models.
I got this in a trade about 2 years ago. I haven't worked on it in almost a year, but will get around to it here soon and finish it. The pictures at the bottom are before it was stripped and after it was stripped....

Have these come down in prices at all? I've always wanted one or a Hylux, but just can't seem to spend what they go for :?
