RC10T2 Runner by slotcarrod
I'm very proud of this one! My first ever T2 (2nd is MINT, thanks AL!), it was a basket case when I got it. It looked like Mr Lex did after the dog had his way with the kitchen!
Sorry I don't have any before pictures. Anyway, I got it back into shape! I have had it running since the Fall but with the POS all black busted up body it came with. This morning I painted a new body finaly!

Nice looking truck. You just don't see too many of these around. Good job on the paint as well.

I'm running a period rebuilt Speed Gem 12T and Novak Duster. Modern Futaba 603 FASST RX and a S9304 servo. I added AE silver titanium turnbuckles, RPM ball cups, FT front and rear towers, FT blue aluminium screws, MIP CVD's, Racers Edge CVD boots, Pro-Line F&R T4 wheels. Edge fronts and Bow-Tie rears in M2.

Nice looking T2. I've been looking for one with no luck. Where did you get the headlight decals for your body?

Re: My RC10T2 Runner
I had a new T2 decal sheet that I got a sign shop to scan and print copies. They could not print the white and the ink and scan quality is poor, but for a runner it looks good! For the number plates and other stickers that need white, I cut them out and stuck them to white sticker sheets and then cut them out again.

Re: My RC10T2 Runner
Nice T2 . Looks awsome. I am working on a T2 sport. After seeing your truck I think am going to get the mip 3/16 cvd kit and a set of those rims. So far my only upgrades are set of bocca bearings , crp bumper , and a rpm gear cover.

Re: My RC10T2 Runner
I posted this over the weekend, but was lost due to server problems!
So I will post it again!
This Speed Gem 12T is not looking very well. A bit of sun stroke I think! It went up in a great plume of smoke! I enjoyed that!
I tried to get all the smoke back in the armature but no go!

Re: My RC10T2 Runner
Do you know what caused this catastrophic failure???
Was the endbell assembled/tightened correctly?
Was it running good right up until failure?
Was there melted plastic? Or just smoke?
Sorry for the interrogation, I just enjoy vintage brushed motors very much, and I wonder what may be going wrong with some of these 20+ year-old motors.
Thanks for any insight.

Re: My RC10T2 Runner
I have had many, many great runs on this motor and rebuilt it many times as well. Cleaned, diamond cut the com and replaced the brushes. The end bell was tight! There was smoke and melted plastic!
I think the reason it melted was, I was using some very expensive GM Racing high silver brushes. My gearing on the truck is very close to the edge of over heating. I don't think I gave the brushes long enough to seat on the com. Very inefficient motor with unseated brushes and slightly over geared.

Re: RC10T2 Runner by slotcarrod
Took this one out the other day to the local track and had a blast. Even though the track was blown out! Damn 1/8 scales!
Update: I now have a Reedy 13t motor in it! I do need to do something with the setup as my RC10T is much nicer to drive! The T2 should be better than the 10T!
