You are right. This is a temporary fix until the reproduction Pro Radiant body is available. This car will also wear the chrome wheels. Once I find someone to cut carbon parts from CAD drawings I will build another car that will probably use this, or a similar modern type body, with the modern wheels and driveline. Because I'm so impatient I decided to start playing with stuff now. Maybe this way once I finally get my carbon parts cut I won't have so much head scratching to do!
In the end though, this car will look pretty much like my avatar picture, except the ROAR number 1 stickers. I don't think those can be found anywhere.

You know Jeff- if you took the car as it is now to the race track you'll habe a heck of a lot of people very confused as to what car they are seeing on the race track. Would you not consider running the boost shell on your runner?

looks great Jeff, but I would have to agree with Jason you could always use the Boost body as a runner if the pro body does not happen or even the Maverick body. The maverick body will fit the only thing is you would have to notch the sides for the battery cause it isn't as wide as the pro body regards Chris

I don't think there would be any confusion recognizing what kind of car that is... those orange arms stick out like a flag saying "Im a pro radiant"; and personally I love that shell and paint job. Great job there Jeff, I may have to break out my old airbrush as well, I still have it in my "paint box" of things.

I agree. But most drivers at the tracks now days would have a hard time recognising a Tamiya Hot Shot let a lone a Pro Radiant. I mentioned the car at the LHS the other day and the guy said, "what kind of car is that?". He had never even heard of it. Sadly most of the people racing these days weren't even around when the Pro Radiant was in production. They certainly wouldn't remember a Tamiya Hotshot!

Yep!
Ive been taking an assortment of vintage buggies to the race track for years now and even race in with the modern cars. I once raced my schumacher Topcat in with the modern day 2WD stock boys, won and everybody wanted to know where to buy this latest car......LOL!!
Seriously most racers have no idea of any of the older stuff.

Everybody also assumes that the newer stuff is better. With no tuning at all my RC10 was only 1 second a lap slower than my B4, which was sitting on top of the heap. I think with a little track time and some fine tuning I can get the car around the track just as fast as the B4, and it's way more fun to drive.

I'm looking forward to your modern re-invention of this car. The whole concept with the vertical sandwhich has been sppoking me for years but I'm too scared to start something along these lines: with only a dremel it' s too hard to get all those big and small holes perfectly facing for a smooth transmission.
Using a service company that does laser or waterjet cutting based from a cad file is the only right way, but then you have to know each and every dimension upfront. that's along way from the rough concept in my head

That's funny that's exacly the way I got back in the hobby 10 years ago. My kid wanted a Radio Shack RC so I brought my AYK bobcat to a HS looking for parts to fix it for him (I did not know back then that the company was already dead for long). The guy at the counter had no idea what may car was... He basically said I was better just trashing it and buying a new or modern used one... Then I started looking on ebay for parts and I saw tons of RC10 which was the holly grail in my teenage years... I bought one because I dreamed of it when I was kid, then another, then a 10T, then a Radian, then a Pro... I'm running out of space now

I just sended my motorplate to www.fibre-lyte.co.uk to have it copied and thats what they did. The motorplate is now made in beutiful carbon my motor plate was from my Kyosho Lazer zxS so i´ll guess that you can do the same with youre parts.Mr. ED wrote:I'm looking forward to your modern re-invention of this car. They are really friendly and it doesnt cost to ask. Havo no pictures of it yet but i´ll guess it looks awsome as always.

I have located a source for the carbon machining. As soon as the panels are sent to them from the manufacturer they will be cut. Atlas cut me some test parts out of balsa using Ruffy's CAD files and they were perfect.
I don't have any intention of producing this vehicle for the masses, but there's definitely going to be a few 2010 Pro Radiants hitting the clay!

Basicly the mission series of schumacher car have that drive setup that radiant uses
Belt from motor to reardiff and then long belt to frontdiff hm that really give some ideas.
Longer belts and metric diffs hm .....
If i just had an radiant to try on.
