An RC12e, RC12L, and my homage to the Kyosho Fantom
An RC12e, RC12L, and my homage to the Kyosho Fantom
I've got to say that I love this forum! It's absolutely amazing! I used to peek at the RC Tech Forum, but there doesn't seem to be too many Vintage/Scale Heads like myself. Many Thanks to whom ever started this Forum. With that said, I'm building up an RC collection for a track I'm building in my backyard. When it's fully paved one class I'll race will be 1/12 endurance racing, all with open top prototype/Can Am style bodies. The rules will sort of revolve around vintage cars, so guys that want to run thier older stuff can have a means to race and still be competitive. Below are some pics of my restored RC12e, and RC12L, and a custom modified 1/12 AWD, fully indepenent suspension car. I was always intrigued with the Kyosho Fantom, so I took it one step further and made one that had fully independent front and rear suspensions. Tell me what you guys think.

These are some very nice cars.
I love the 4wd suspension car. What is it based on??

Thanks Tiger1,
The full suspension car, started as a 1/14 Sportwerks Recoil. It took quit a bit of modification, but it came out pretty nice in the end.

Putting a kit together is only the very basic form of RC hobby. Modification, stretching ideas and elbow grease improve the fun factor astronomically.

very interesting, any chance of brightening up your pics a little they are a little hard to see.
should be some great racing when this all takes of, heaps less work on the cleaning of the cars compared to off road

Thanks for the compliments guys.
I'll post a few brighter pics of the AWD car, and of the track as it stands today.
I think you guys would apprecate this idea. I bought a Sportwerks Chaos so I can convert it into a 1/12, RWD, fully independent suspension nitro car. Using a Can Am body of course. I've pretty much determined how I'm going to do it, but haven't had the time to get to it yet.

Here are some pics with the flash. I hope they're a little better. I really stink at taking pictures.

Too bad those recoils never really took off, since it's a great size for a "micro" car. You can have bannana hands and still work on 'em.
