This car won Japan championship in a rainy race. But I think the Kawada rx430 wolf was a better car in general.

I don't have an exact year, but it came out almost right around the time of the Turbo Optima/Salute; they all appeared in the same Tower Hobbies catalog that year--1987?breck wrote:What year was this released? Sweet find.

There were a couple different versions of the Fantom.V12 wrote:Is it possible there were different Fantom 1/12th cars? I saw somewhere a Fantom and a Fantom EP in a timeline but no pictures to compare.

Re: Kyosho Fantom
Congratulations! Great find, even tho it was 3 years ago. I have 3 of these (minus the rear shock) that I originally bought from a closing hobby store.
We ran stock motors, 6 cell packs and got 8 minute runs! It was the best racing we ever had. Power 4 wheel drifts thru cornes, fast cars, long race times......very fun. I still have my original one and have located and bought back the other two. I have also been locating lots of spares over the years to be able to keep them running.
Hope you can race it a couple of times. Enjoy
I gave two of them to my racing buddies and we ran a couple of years of absolutely fun racing in a class all by our selves. We ran stock motors, 6 cell packs and got 8 minute runs!
