Vintage 48 Pitch, 6 gear Transmission

Post by Ruffy »

I just found another blast from the past, in one of my boxes.
It is the 48 Pitch 6 Gear tranny made for the old housing. Notice in the picture below the transmission on the left is the 32 Pitch standard transmission with the black upgrade gears, while the one on the right is the 48 Pitch tranny with the Jammin' Products thrust assembly (upper thrust bearing set inside) and with the spring-less tension adjust for the differential. The tension nut has 4 beveled washers for a more consistant tension onto the diff hub. I still have both of these tranny's, luckily.

Man thats nice, I tried getting a set of 48p dirt burners conversion someone had up but it went over $50 and i just couldnt justify buying it! Its ashame to because it looks so nice. Do you notice the difference running the 48p trans over the 32p?

Back when I used to run it, YES! The 48 Pitch tranny was alot smoother and the power usage was more efficient, allowing better times with the batteries .

Nice parts !

That's a pleasure to find somebody getting all his old stuff. We are so many to put it out.
Don't remind such thing to Craig Dresher, he turn crasy to the idea of what he put to the garbage during his last move !
