Awesome work here guys!
Keep the images coming.

One thing I noticed different, is that it appears that Jay was using the o-ring shock seals as his are black in the images posted.

I would love to make one of these myself (a Jay Halsey Replica) and have most everything in brand new condition except:
1. Front Wheels and tires (where were you able to acquire these from?)
2. Rear Wheels and Tires. (where were you able to acquire these from?)
3. Rear Wing.

This 4WD RC-10 was so unique (look at the transmission case), I wonder if anyone ever tried to duplicate this effort from Associated Electrics, or is it an MIP conversion with chain drive and complete rear transmission are redone.
I like the way the nose brace tubes go thru the front shock tower.

I think this was a prototype home made car.

scr8p,
Not sure if you saw my post here at the end here:
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4896&start=225

But there are some new pictures I posted that I have not seen on this site yet (I admit I haven't looked everywhere here yet), but this post of mine is in reference of the 1985 IFMAR World's car that Jay ran. I have asked Steve to check some things out with Curtis or Gene, but thought you might find it interesting; or maybe you know the anwers to these differences already, and can fill me in on them.

i think that the #4 bodied car would've been the one from the '85 ROAR race. the #6 is from the '85 IFMAR race. that being said, jay qualified 4th for the stock A1 at the IFMAR race. could that be when the pic of the car with the #4 was taken? maybe. i really don't know for sure.

over the years, as better pics have surfaced of his car, my build has kinda evolved. being as though the majority of the pics i have are of the #6 car, i plan on switching the numbers, and swapping out the black outer wheel covers for chrome ones.

I think the rims are good as black as shown in the main trophy picture

But I think we might need to change to #6's and the wing is different.
My own replica build is in limbo until I can try and find some answers.

I sure am! I want to get as much of the factual information regarding not only the number, but also the wing, rims, and anything else that might have been missed such as the placement location of the electronics in the chassis.
I'm in no hurry, as the bulk of my stuff has been sitting in the attic for over 16 years anyways, now it is all in on of our guest rooms.
Hopefully Jay will answer my questions soon, or we will get and answer from Steve, Curtis or Gene.

i'm not too worried about reaching absolute perfection with my car. if there's some incorrect parts on the car, simply because i can't find the correct ones, i'm not gonna let it bother me. it looks pretty good........ i'm happy with it the way it is. but as i stated a couple pages back, it is going to be torn down and rebuilt. when i bought this car 4 years ago, i had no intentions on building a replica. once i aquired the front rims and tires, and 3 small, crappy pics of his car, that's when it started. the GOOD pics have only come around in the last year (or so). now that i can see how his was built, i can work towards getting mine closer. but i'm still not gonna lose any sleep over it if it's not perfect.

just like my masami rc10 replica. i have 2 crappy little pics of it. that's it. i'm just wingin' it. i know without a doubt it won't be an exact replica. but it should look good sitting on the shelf when it's done. :)

I think scr8p has done a great job on this car! I looks fantastic, and like he says "my build has kinda evolved". I am sure it will evolve even more as he finds correct parts and stickers. If Ruffy wants a true Jammin copy, he will need to base his car on a light gold early Edinger.

I want to make a Jammin look alike as well. I will use the incorrect parts I have until I luck out and find the correct ones. Even with out the correct parts, it will look dead sexy sitting on the shelf. Just like scr8p's! I can dream....one day I will have one!

I agree that scr8p's replica is fantastic! He did an amazing job on it, and one that takes time, dedication and attention to detail, as he has done. If not for him paving the way and making a replica, I might not have stuck around on these forums and gotten back into this after countless years. His Jay Halsey Worlds replica got my adrenalin going into doing something with the tons of old stuff I have, so thank-you scr8p. If for nothing else, my wife also thanks you as it has forced me to pull most everything from the attic that had been sitting for nearly 20 years.
My own replica build is not going to be based upon if it is and Edinger or not chassis to be honest. I don't have that much of the "collector" spirit in me I think, to pursue it to that detail as scr8p and others have done. You guys are true pioneers. I just want to make my 1st one and see where I go from there to be honest. I will try to make it as true to Jay's car in other aspects as I can with what we have today though.

I just got a response from Jay on my email to him, and he is going to try and find the time to answer some of our questions, plus he is going to email me more info in his next email. He also mentioned that someone is sending their car to him for him to sign, not sure if it is your car or someone else's. But long story short, it looks like we will be able to get more info from Jay here on these forums soon.

Just wanted to share the good news I got in an email during lunch today.

Regards,
Ruffy
