Alternatives To TQ20 & TQ70 Tires?

Post by LTO_Dave »

I just finished an RC10 runner and I'm in need of a set of tires. And since I love the look, I wanted to know if any tires are currently available that look similar to the TQ20 rear and TQ70 front pyramid spikes?

I don't want to spend a lot on the real deal tires because this is simply a runner that will be driven.

I've read the Pro-Line Dirt Flirts are similar, but I can't seem to find them for sale.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In 2 years of collecting I've found 1 set of DC34 Dirt Flirts NIP, and 2 sets of TQ20's not an easy thing at all--Imex made some Yokomo copies of the TR8, TR9 tires you might have an easier time finding

I agree! I'm ordering a pair of those Tamiya spikes for my runner.

I did manage to buy a complete set of TQ pyramids for my shelfer. Scr8p is right...the real AE tires are sweet!

Interesting. What wheels do you need though to mount them on a RC10?

Do you have a reference picture for the originals? I 've seen some conrad tires I thought looked very much like popular yokomos from back in the days...

Here's a pic from aconsola's thread...the inspiration for my current build:

Here are the TQ20/TQ70's, these are the same, but are Yokomo TR9's (R), and Proline DC-34 Dirt Flirts(F)
