AYK spiked 'V' tyres???

Post by Bormac »

Have picked up a brand spanking new set of AYK tyres. They are HI SPORT logo tyres with a 'V' pattern with sharp spikes. Does anybody know which buggy these were off? They look like 2.0inch also.
Thank you- Jason.

Those were the tires to have for a short period way back when in 2WD.

I think this pattern was available from a couple different suppliers. But it may have been rebranding of AYK for import into Europe also.

Yeah, once people started using them there were a few makers. I think the brand we actually used was You-G? I can't remember the proper spelling though.

You-G as well as CRP made them as well, but they were "rounder", usually for the smaller Tamiya wheels (Frogs, Hornets, etc.)....

Yeah You-G made a 'similar' pattern but not an exact copy. I had a set not that long ago. These AYK tyres look as though they have never been used. I like them

The ones I had were exreme hard rubber and rather useless. I don't know which manufacturer they came from and they were old and used when I got hem presented.

Here they are. HI-SPORT 'TG22'. I think these little babies would look sweet on an Optima shelf car. They have the ever so slightest wear (and I mean barely). At first I thought they were brand new but close enough for my liking. Ive never seen a set of these before'. I might seal them away in a clip lock bag for a rainy day-
