Scrap-yard 10T

Post by aconsola »

I built this truck from mostly spare parts left over from my GT that I converted to oval and added every RPM part I could find. The noseplate and front bumper were about the only NIP parts I used. The chassis, rear bulk, and rear inner mounts were rescued from a pile in a dusty barn (a place that Charlie has surfed through too.)
The trans brace was cut from a broken old yokomo chassis, and the transmission I got for a smokin' deal at the Vonats swap meet.
I did not have a bellcrank for a 10T, so I rigged up a custom system based on leftover losi parts and a single A&L arm with lots of spacers. It works fairly well, minimal bump steer, good enough for terrorizing the neighborhood.
The rear shock tower I picked up a while ago off ebay from somebody who was selling off a huge lot of vintage oval cars and parts. It was already trimmed and drilled to fit the AE bulkhead when I got it.

That's a cool truck and an even cooler story! I love these kinds of builds! :D
