Asso, Ya i'll take better ones... its actually a big room just taken with my iPhone because I can't find my camera yet (just moved). I had to notch the top deck to go around the front tranny. The belt is so long because the chassis must be a shorter wheelbase or something. The front shock tower is def closer to the steering. As a matter of fact I had to relocate the ball studs for the center link on the steering back to get around the tranny. I'm never going to run the car so it really doesn't matter I suppose but it would've been nice. The belt is like 5 teeth too long but I found a source for belts so I'm going to see what they can help me with.

Slotcarrod, I have the top deck mounted to the standoffs with a couple spacers underneath to raise it up a little higher to get over the tranny. The chassis kit comes with a brace that goes across the front end, its in there. I'll try to find my camera today and get some better shots.

you found a source for belts, where? i would also be intrested in a slightly shorter belt for a custom project as well. i tried looking for a suitable replacement belt but i could not find any. they didnt seem to be a standard size that i could find, i just figured they were custom made for mip.

I think the MIP kit expects you to move the noseplate forward to gain room for the gearbox, and alter the steering. That is why the belt is too long, you are using a one peice chassis which can't be stretched.

neat project......interesting mix of stuff.

Good to see you building again. I bet it's fun to open up those new bags of parts and finally see that beast come together.
