PC virus effecting mouse behavior?

Post by SmallScaleSmitty »

Was wondering if there are any geeks in the crowd? Been having a strange problem with my Microsoft wireless optical mouse. Every so often it will move to a randon location, select text, open links sometimes in a new tab, minimize all my windows or resize my browser. All at random. I replaced the batteries, ran Mcafee and Ad-Aware and so far nothing helps. Anybody heard of this? I'm running Win XP Home, all up to date. Any ideas?

It is optical, but I've had the same mouse pad for like a year. And I can see the mouse pad possibly effecting the mouse movement, but it's clicking and dragging things too. :?
