Speed Holes?
Speed Holes?
So I fully remember back in the day when guys took their gold pans and cut all kinds of holes in them to reduce weight. I had a buddy who raced a lot and I watched him do it. Thank god I wasn't much of racer so I never vandalized my gold pan in that way. My question...what's the rule on the holes? Is there ever a case of going overboard? I saw this on the bay and was like "WOW". Did guys drill out the tranny like this too? I don't remember seeing that before. Even if that was the way to go back then, I still cringe when I look at this pic.

Re: Speed Holes?
I was kind of lucky back then. My dad kept his drill locked up and his drill bits where all dull. We tried, instead, to "drill" holes in all of the nylon parts with a soldering iron. The smell of burning plastic brings back many memories. That is how we made our body mounting holes, also.

Re: Speed Holes?
I always thought these people should spend less time driling and more time driving.
