OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
I recently received this car in a trade... its an OFNA Z10 Electric belt driven... I cant find very much info on this car or if its rare/collectible.... should it be a shelf queen? I was going to run it as a Drift Car but IDK now...Help Please...lol
Re: OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
Just a yokomo knockoff, I don't think anything Ofna is collectible. I would just turn it into a vintage T/A or drift car. Good luck getting parts though

I read somewhere that the Nitro version is common but the Electric is kinda rare...Im mean the original Z10 and not the rally edition...

Re: OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
Well, you got it right in your title: rare and collectible are not necessarily the same.
They were just never popular. I think it looks cool though
Spare parts, not a biggy I guess, start by checking with Ofna themselves. If they can't help I'm sure a bit of research will find plenty compatible parts in the LHS.
Ofna uses imperial hardware right? check the asso and losi touringcar parts first. Or ream the hingepin holes and mix some HPI, tamiya, kyosho, ...
Hope you have fun with it

Re: OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
I have 2 z-10s. a sport model with fiberglass chassis, and a pro model, all alloy and CF. I raced it a few times, it was okay, but I am an offroader, so it ended up collecting dust. Now it is just a pile of parts somewhere in my storage unit, I think I robbed the bearings out of it for some project.

Re: OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
I was an ofna dealer for a while (back in the early 90s). This was before they were really known. I received a bunch of z10 literature and it looks like a nice car....tons of in house aftermarket products. I think they had the portential to be good cars, but were kind of a no name generic product (atleast here in the US). Ofna re-badges other manufacturers and sells them...sort of like Graupner in the 80s. As far as collectible, that's a question for the ages. Garbage today may become someone's treasure in the future.
As for parts, ofna stocks replacement parts for all of the cars that they use to sell. I remember calling Dave Morales and he told me that nitrohouse had all of the parts. This was a few years ago. I called them and they still has parts for the pirate M1 (the first car they released in the US).
Regards,

Re: OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
Hey,thanks for that.
I found a dogbone the perfect size and made a great working battery strap out of a zip tie.
Drives real good,too.
OFNA are re-badging and selling the Hong Nor 1/8th nitro cars,at the moment.
In this part of the world,at least.

Re: OFNA Z10 Electric... Rare? Collectible?
Here is a price guide, I wonder if it is the same car as I have marketed as a Hyper 10 EP over in UK? does it have a lot of purple alloy?

If so I picked up a roller and complete spares car the other day as well as my mint runner.
