Mip 3013 rc10gt ball bearing steering instructions?
Mip 3013 rc10gt ball bearing steering instructions?
Can anyone tell me how to properly mount the mip 3013 ball bearing steering kit on my 10t, i.e. what screws do I need and which set of holes should they go in? or better yet does someone have a scan of the instructions?
Thanks,
mike
Thanks,
mike

That MIP steering came with it's own hardware & bearings, if you don't have em', your in trouble
if you do the 4/40 countersunk screws go up through the bottom where your original bellcrank posts were, then the aluminum post gets threaded onto the 4/40 screw. Insert the bearings into the bellcranks, shim accordingly top/bottom, and install bellcrank over post

Is the hardware for the 10t the same as the GT? If so the post doesn't thread onto the 4-40 screw, it slides over it and the nut on top holds everything together. I will take a look to see IF I can find my instructions for the GT kit.

Thats kinda what I thought except a 4-40 countersunk screw seems like the head is way too small and would pull through the coundersunk holes in the nose plate?Charlie don't surf wrote:That MIP steering came with it's own hardware & bearings, if you don't have em', your in trouble

it looks like they will but they won't, that is how it is on the gt as well.

the hand lathe.
when your missing mip posts, you can make them with an old wing tube, a file, and a drill...
for the win.

i personally think that the mip bellcranks suck. especially if your trying to use it on a flat chassis without the benefit of the "drop down" from a noseplate. i bought one, never bought another.
