don't want to make it a "rainbow car" or "GPM look" with screws, washers & metal parts in many different color........... so ugly.........

I saw the GPM store on a businesstrip to HK. The colour mix they put on some of their display models makes your eyes hurt.
I suppose they just want to show they have the parts in different colours, don't suppose they expect us to do this to our own models..maybe

yes.....that's the reason why in HK.......many experienced R/C car players are laughing at GPM........coz' their products are so "eye-catching"......so "brilliant" ..........makes me dizzy...... .........

for me......if I really cannot match the color of the metal parts...........I rather use caustic solution to clear them up......all turn back to the original silver color instead........

found a set of foam tyres on Yokomo wheels yesterday.........

the next thing to think about is the color of shell & wing.....

These cars were seriously quick and were just as good as the Lazers of the time. I found this car was better to drive than the Yokomo, in my pinion anyway. Fantastic car.

I suppose I'd better add this Roadrunner to the thread. A little bit dusty but it's new built - by me .
Got a load of NIP Tomy spares somewhere, both Intruder and Adonis, from a LHS that was closing down. A mate mentioned the shop had them and I detoured there between work jobs the next day. I really should run it.

yes........I think they got the same size........

but it is now very difficult to get a suitable Tomy hexa adaptor to fit into the tyre-truer..........coz' I want to glue some foam tyres myself........

have a small achievement today.........finished the legs & the steering part........

in order to match the overall "vintage feeling" of the car..........I decided to use the Tekin 410K Esc ........& the KO Propo PS 1001 Fet servo which has an extra power cord for a 7.2V supply from Esc..........

Are the red anodised parts from tomy? Or from X-press?

when I started in this hobby 20 years back I did it with a boomerang.
I didn't have money for good cells and a decent charger, even took me a long while to save up for the many bearings
I loved racing at the club, but 5 minute heats were just too long under those conditions. Even with the stock mabuchi I was slower and still only made it through the 5 minutes one out of 2 runs.
That kind of killed my interest in racing another 4wd buggy and I raced 2wd and truck for many years. The only 4wd I drove was touring.
Untill early last year when I bought my first 3000+ mAh cells. Knowing I can race these beauties with those cells makes them ooooh so attractive
Once I get to race my yz-10, it will probably get some company and this Tomy looks like a nice candidate though I would really want something shaftdriven with fully closed gearboxes also... any ideas for a good buggy or possibly truck or touringcar as start point? Maybe a conversion for a 1/8

the red universals are "Kose" product........specially designed for Tomy Intruder........discontinued item.........

for the red C-hubs.......they were taken out from a Tamiya TB EvoIII......which were made by "Square"........I think it is not easy to buy now.......coz' this car was outdated already.......

I think the new xpress company do not have any more residual Tomy stuffs now........ even I asked them about the 1st generation xpress mini.......they said it was out of stock........
