Somehow I skipped a step. There must be too many images because it wouldn't let me add more.
After painting the can, before reassembling the endbell, I polished the brush hoods. I used a rotary tool with a nylon brush wheel, with Brasso.

Re: Brushed motor rehab
While waiting for the paint to dry, I decided to rehab the brushes as well. I was just going to put new ones on but these were in good condition and it goes with the thread. I crimped and soldered new terminals on. These are #4 hole, 18-22 gauge, from ebay. Screenshot_20220416-144336_Gallery.jpg I t...

Re: Brushed motor rehab
Got it back together. Whoever was in this motor before, had the armature endplay way too tight. I adjusted the endplay and centered the armature in the magnetic field. I reassembled it with new Trinity springs and the old brushes. I checked rotation before installing the decal, so that everything wo...

Re: Dreams and go to motors of your youth?
I'm younger than you are, so that definitely has some relevance. Even though I was always a RC10 fan, I always had a liking for Trinity motors. Seeing that the mid/late 90's was the Losi/Trinity heyday, it kinda makes sense. Add in the colorful motor variety, all the big name racers using them, and ...

Re: rc10 for on road ?
The T4 would be easiest. Put some street tires on, limiters in the shocks, and stiffer springs. This is another option. Screenshot_20220419-132939_Gallery.jpg It is a short arm car with hex conversion. It uses wide offset RPM crawler wheels and rear sized tires all around. It is lowered, has very li...

Re: vintage dirt oval wedge body styles
Some bodies here.
https://www.rccarkings.net/bodies.htm
Best I can tell, they are associated with RJ Speed. My last order had a shipping label from RJ and some of the parts were other brands.

Re: Stripped Le Mans 480Gold mounting holes
M3X0.5 is the common size. I have that exact kit. After slightly modifying the tool, it works fine. Thanks! Could you elaborate on the tool modification? I haven’t done a helicoil before but have seen a couple videos so have a basic understanding at this point. It wasn't much. The tip of the tool w...
