Spare parts build

Even though this is technically a buggy, I'm doing a truck conversion with it. The plan is to build as much of it from my parts/junk boxes as possible. Of what you see here, the transmission ($40 parts trans)and rear control arms are the only things purchased specifically for it. There are some new ...

Re: 64p Pan Car Gear Question

This is from the RC10L2. It is for 48P but should give you good ballpark ratios for a given motor.

Re: MY KYOSHO BEETLE 2014 RESTORED

Thats a beaut! How are these compared to a Tamiya Stadium Beetle? Except for being Beetles, they are different in nearly every other way. I have vehicles in both types of chassis. With the Blitzer being truck based, it has more ground clearance and bigger tires. The Kyosho is mostly metal, so it is...

Re: What the.... Why on earth...!

The Blitzer family uses two different diameter bodies as well. And those red diaphragms can be hard to find.

Regular AE springs will fit the fronts. The slightly larger Losi springs will fit the rears or Traxxas Ultra springs can be adapted.

Re: MY KYOSHO BEETLE 2014 RESTORED

Which 3 cars? Also are the Beetle bodys pre cut or finished? They are pre-cut. The window masks are kind of a pain, as they are made from paper tape. They are easier to tear than the vinyl masks that most bodies have. The Beetle, Scorpion, and Turbo Scorpion are based on the same chassis. The Beetl...

Re: Original World's Ball Bearings Question

Not all of them. I know that the re-re used 3/16 axles and had non-flanged bearings on the rear carriers. I never buy bearing kits. I always buy whatever I need from somewhere like Avid, Boca, or Fast Eddy. Considering that my cars are often mismatched jumbles of parts, its probably for the better.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2021 ** - Winner - orangemazda

Here's my short arm A stamp, which has a few deviations and minor changes from box art. - The chassis is drilled for in-line battery mounting. The steering has been upgraded to Worlds bellcranks and in-line axles. - I went with JConcepts tires and wheels instead of the originals. - The electronics c...

Re: Stadium Blitzer rebuild

You can always mask and paint it on the outside. It probably won't be as glossy as the rest of the body (more matte black) but since it's an accent color, that might actually look better than gloss black. I don't think it looks too bad, it just needs something to break it up. I might come back late...

Re: Plastic welding/What were Andys bumpers made of

Pretty sure that they are nylon. That's what they look like.

I just put an Andy's body mount in dye to bring its color back. It took the color quickly, just like nylon.

Now, I think JG stuff is Kydex.

Re: painting advice Masking and Caps

Tamiya makes sheets of blank masking paper. It might come in handy.

Re: Stadium Blitzer rebuild

Got the grill inserts done.

I found some thin black decals leftover from a different body. I cut some 2mm wide strips and placed them in the inserts.

Short of a closeup, I think they turned out well.

Re: Reedy Mr. Outlaw Super Stock

Bringing this back up. I was looking through an old RCCA buyers guide and seen this. Screenshot_20211010-143306_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20211010-143249_Gallery.jpg Just a little something to differentiate between the "#551 Mr. Outlaw" and the "#553 Super Outlaw". Or just more to a...
