I took a couple more pics in better light.

Re: Buy a complete just for parts?
Typically, ebay guys will buy and strip them. If the re-re's are released in decent quantities, parts will be all over ebay.

Re: Parts lot rebuild
Got it painted. The color turned out a little different than I imagined. The metallic nature of the gunmetal caused the color to mostly have a gold to pewter look, with reddish accents at certain angles. I was kinda iffy at first but its really starting to grow on me. Re: RC10Talk community build
Be aware that those JConcepts wheels are designed to fit modern (wider) tires. Those early AE and Losi tires are entirely too narrow.
This is a Traxxas Alias on a JConcepts Mono wheel and a AE TQ-72 on a RC10 CE wheel.
You might want to check fitments first.

Re: #6036 Graphite Team Cars
Personally, I'd do black.
Any of my nylon that won't cleanup white, gets turned back. No other option.

Re: RC10Talk community build
While the car has several modern elements, I'd place the overall theme in the late 80's. I'd definitely say that its pre-Team Car.Dirtburner wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 9:19 pmWhat time period are you placing this buggy in?MarkyDents wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:34 pmI think those pair up real nice and definitely lend themselves very well to the time period this car invokes.

Re: Do old radios and receivers hold any value to anyone?
I still use them. All my better vintage radios do everything I need, and do it better than cheap modern radios. They don't have binding issues and very few compatibility problems. On top of that, the receivers don't look out of place in my vintage cars. In plane racing, 72mhz has actually had a resu...

Re: Do old radios and receivers hold any value to anyone?
My 75mhz AM Futaba 2PL radio lets me store settings for 10 models (and I bought a working spare for $15!). I have 3 cars and a boat in it so far. I love it. Right now, I have no need to go to 2.4ghz. I have a couple of the 2PL radios as well, very nice for it's time. I also have some similar JR and...

Re: RPM “ 91 Worlds “ with Composite Craft chassis
As for the turnbuckles, Tecnacraft ? Think they are long enough that I can ditch the Losi ballcups for more appropriate RPM ballcups ? The Losi cups use the same ball size correct ? Yes, same ball size. And RPM cups are made in two different lengths. There are some comparisons here. https://www.rc1...

Re: Vintage Electronics in a Modern Kit: What's going on here?
And now Yokomo releases their rtr racer with a brush motor and speed control 😜 anyone know where to find a shorty pack with a Tamiya connector? Screenshot_20210811-155056_Gallery.jpg Now I want one. It has the right look for a vintage car. Well, I said that I wanted one. Just got all this on ...

Re: Surprised at how nice the 6 gear is
I keep hesitating on the order because I am not sure it's worth $17 for me to have snap ring pliers for the 12 snap rings on 2 gold pans. For the outdrives, my regular small ones fit. They were from a cheap set (Harbor Freight, or similar). For the shocks, I modified some small forceps to fit. They...

If cleaning your aluminum pieces, be sure to use a cleaner that is safe. I use the Simple Green Pro HD (purple color), from Home Depot. I've never had a problem with it discoloring aluminum.
