Re: Good Cheap 38mm Wide Servos?

A Futaba S132H fits perfect, if you can find them. They pop up on eBay fairly regularly. Futaba had some others in that size but I don't remember the numbers.

If you are willing to drill a new hole, a Hitec 225MG fits and offers even more room. The Hobbico servo in the gold pan is a rebranded 225.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Got a bunch of stuff from MCI. It looks like the first run of gold pan decals had a defect, so he printed another and sent me both. :D And since so many of my cars have Factory Works parts, I just had to have some vintage A&L decals. Just seems like the thing to do. And I seen that Team Blue Gro...

Parts lot rebuild

While searching ebay, I came across this pile of Team Car parts. Since I had most of the parts needed, I decided to go ahead and rebuild it. And since I don't actually have a Team Car, it made the decision easier. The shock towers and nylon parts were all purple, so that had to go. The parts lot cam...

Re: Parts lot rebuild

Started cleaning stuff up and putting it back together. Dyed all the parts black changed out a few things I had a new servo saver laying around and figured it was perfect for this car. Ordered up a carbon fiber Worlds car package from Vintage R/C. Its all 3/16", so that'll complicate the linkag...

Re: McMaster-Carr order substitutions for assocaited parts

Just for reference, I just bought a 100 pack of -006 silicone 70A o rings on Amazon for less than $2 shipped. I prefer 50A but they can be hard to find sometimes. The Traxxas ultra shock rebuild kit is a good source for several items. At $2.50, it's a steal. The 1/8 e clips are a few dollars for ten...

Re: McMaster-Carr order substitutions for assocaited parts

whats usable from the Traxxas shock rebuild kit? Depending on whether you have top or bottom load shocks (I have both), everything except the diaphragm. The spacers do need to be reamed for the 1/8" shafts, as they are slightly larger than a 3mm shaft. Alternatively, current 3mm shafts can be ...

Re: Sourcing ball studs

You are looking for 4.3mm studs. Custom Works and Schumacher are the easiest to get. Lunsford makes some as well, but $$. Arrma makes a few. And older HPI ones can still be found. CRC makes some red aluminum ones as well. Some of those use M3 threads instead of 4-40. As said, Custom Works is probabl...

Re: HISTORY OF THE RC10T

I have a complete truck, and 2/3 of a parts truck. The whole truck has T2 style arms, but the parts truck has narrow arms. I am assuming the narrow arm truck to be an earlier version? The bottom ones are the early versions, would have originally been white. They look like the earliest, thin version...

Re: Shock Questions Old (Imperial )Vs New (Metric).

Most short course truck shocks will be approximately the same length as 10T shocks. Smaller bore shocks are typically more responsive than big bores, but big bores seem to be better suited to rougher terrain and heavier vehicles. Whichever type that you choose, I'd use big bore springs. Even with Sm...

Re: were there v2 10mm shocks?

Yes. There were small bore V2 shocks, with and without threaded bodies.

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car

The back of that wing is made to be mostly cut out. There should be some faint lines in the mold for trimming it.

Re: Happy birthday, Vanessa's Lunch Box!

That's what I'm taking about.

They actually make a Loctite specificly for plastics. If you read up in it, it is CA.

But yes, the solvent in regular Loctite will attack plastics.

Re: Chris VanAir 2016 inspired build

If you didn't want it to be an exact copy, you could have used a Dynotech gear adapter with the original V1 input shaft.

Just something to keep in mind in the future.

I've got a couple of those Tekin Rebels. They can be finiky to program. Having to do it four or five times isn't uncommon.
