Removing rust from turnbuckles
I wanted to share my results after trying a couple of methods for removing rust from some turnbuckles. A few I dunked in vinegar overnight along with some ball ends. Another few I turned in a drill while scrubbing them with a fine wire brush. Both methods worked and both have stripped the parts from...

Re: Green parts: not just for ball cups anymore
You start with the local municipal board explaining the community benefit for relatively little cost. It's been done. There's a thread on RCtech 23 pages long right now about the issues with racing and how to solve and your idea is one of them. Common themes: 1) Too much time, most cannot give up a ...

Re: My RC10 Graphite Team Car
Where did you get the second Graphite? Is it gonna get a paint job like the new one? That was an older ebay find but I ended up selling it. I do have another graphite, the original 6 gear one and these two will be keepers. I put another Ultrahive body on it even it is wrong for the car. I wish he c...

Re: Where are they now?
Dan had strong opinions but I learned long ago that he was usually right. He was like an encyclopedia of knowledge of vintage RC and I'll miss the entire chapters of text he'd write in his forum posts, there was a lot to learn from him. I don't know what happened but his wealth of knowledge and expe...

Re: RC10 Chassis Sale
A bargain for sure! What's interesting is that it's black yet it's not for the World's car. Was AE thinking of re-releasing another classic but then changed their minds? Anyway, it's disappointing to see so many classic parts either out of stock or discontinued. The re-re era is over. When the clas...

SUPER annoying, try posting if you have somethimng worthwhile to say or buzz off. Chris REC This won’t be happening anymore. With people leaving and sabotagi...

Re: Modern rims/tires for vintage RC10 or how I gave up on old tires
Doug
I did dye the wheels for the Houge before I painted them.
Totally forgot about that until just now
They took dye as well as any other nylon I have done.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I needed to replace the spur on the B3 so I found this online – unlike any spur I’ve owned before. It includes an aluminum plate and a gasket – was this meant to reduce vibration? If so, then shouldn’t it include the plate and gasket for both sides of the gear; it only came with one set. Maybe they...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
There were a lot of "straight graphite" chassis back then. The original JRX2 comes to mind as a good example. Is that edge photo showing a sandwich of another material between layers of graphite? There was one company that sold a lot of chassis like that, maybe DA, with a wood core...??

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Duratrax and Composite Craft come to mind. Can't remember the 3rd chassis maker that is usually with those two. But like Ascot mentioned there were a bunch. I'd assume that duratrax outnumber alot of them because they were one of the cheaper brands...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I'm pretty sure it's a Duratrax chassis. I believe you can tell by the number of screw holes along the side of the chassis...Duratrax had 6 on each side, while CC/Parma had 4 (might've been 5) on each side.
