help with servos for my RC12E

RC12E.JPG Need a little help with finding servos for my RC12e, I recently picked up 4 Futaba Fp s-28's only to find they were too big and bottomed out on the chassis. Is there a good size to look for? Maybe 27's or 7's?? The car is from 1979 according to the manual if that makes any difference, I a...

Re: Need RC10 related info for my rebuild

Ok, so has anyone got any good ideas about wheels that I could use? I would love to have them between 2 1/4 and 2 3/4" . Even if it just the tires I can work with that.

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Re: Need RC10 related info for my rebuild

Are these Hornet wheels?? I found them at the bottom of a drawer on a Frankenstien I bought from a kid. If they are they are just the right size. I know I probably won't find slicks this size so ribbed are going to have to do. These wheels are worn out but as long as I know what to get I can get som...

Re: Need RC10 related info for my rebuild

Those are tires from Duratrax back in the 80's. You can tell from the picture that the wheels are original. Perhaps this photo can give a better view as to why I would like to go with smaller fronts. They don't have to be imperial measure as I have a lathe and can turn adapters for the bearings if n...

Re: Need RC10 related info for my rebuild

Here is a pic of my build so far. The original RC10 had the spiked tires that made them about the same size as the fronts, but without the spikes the rears are smaller than the fronts.

Need RC10 related info for my rebuild

Working on my build I have run into a snag and need some help. When looking at mounting a body I realize that the Front wheels are too big, the rear slicks are 2 3/4" OD and the fronts are 3" it just doesn't look right. Are there any fronts that will fit the RC10 around 2 1/2" OD? I a...

Re: Looking to restore RC12e

Fantastic, Thanks! I was able to print off the photo's to the exact size first time. Now I can either measure or glue the photo to the G-10 directly.

Re: A Rescue and Rebuild RC10 A stamp

After taking everything apart, getting rid of the bent pieces and the worn arms, mounts and axle blocks. Scrubbing the rest of the nylon and rebuilding the tranny I ordered some rere parts from Towers Hobbies. I was really waiting for these parts to come on the market thank goodness for re-releases....

A Rescue and Rebuild RC10 A stamp

I bought this car new the first year it was introduced. Had fun with it bashing and even got some racing in with it. When my son reached 12 he took an interest in RC cars and wanted this one, Seeing an excuse to buy an improved new one I thought hell why not. Besides at that time I was teaching a Sa...

Re: Looking to restore RC12e

Looks fantastic!! But as I live in Canada it would be cheaper to send you the money for the materials and the shipping. Shipping one way would be enough of an expense. Thanks for the offer,

Looking to restore RC12e

I am looking to restore my first RC car an RC12e that I originally purchased in 1981 or 1982. After racing it for a few years I put it on a shelf. I later decided to have some fun and tried running it with an Cox .049, what I didn't know was how big of a flywheel I needed so it ended up in a junk bo...
