Re: The start of something new (Quadra car)
So (with your measurements) a 2mm narrower hex, or a 3mm clamping hex is what's needed to make it legal width? With a quick search, I can't seem to find any in that thickness...

Re: Quadra-symmetric RC10
Niki, So, this design has the front and rear Track width maxed to 250mm, Roar Limit, using B4 drives, hub, hex, and std rc10 front casters with OG inline axles? I read thru all 4pgs and saw this kinda scattered through comments. I'm just dbl checking the width, and strict need for the front suspens...

Re: shapeways durability?
I raced last year on the fredswain front arms from shapeways USA. Fairly expensive, Quality was up and down, tolerances varied from order to order. I tend to be a cleaner driver then some, but I broke 4 of them over the course of 10 weeks of racing. The weirdest thing was when I separated the arms. ...

Re: YellowDatsun's lucky find of the century.
Love the truck to buggy conversion, nice work! I like seeing other people get creative with their builds like you are with the swaybars and wing... Vs seeing more of the same stuff over and over. A wide track rc10 buggy on primes is for sure not something you see every day :-) Your car might actuall...

Re: The start of something new (Quadra car)
I'll measure, if it is too wide, it may only be off by a couple mm. I have narrower hexes to use if I need to. Please let us know, because I would be very interested in being able to use my B5M's hex front wheels on my quadra car at some point... but it has to be ROAR legal because (at least here) ...

Loving everything about this build!
Isn't the front "too wide" to be legal with the b4.2 caster blocks on the quadra arms?

Re: Rc10 stealth carpet set up
I ran a team car in "buggy" class on a flat carpet (tc) track years ago. Finding proper wheels and tires might be the biggest challenge unless you do the wheel conversion. They can do shockingly well with just a proper setup, but a lot of faster people changed parts and went to a zero kick...

Re: Rod and VAE's NIX91 test run
Just thought I should add that I personally have noticed a pretty huge variability in the porosity, quality of the material and the printing tolerance from shapeways. Not passing the blame directly to them on this particular failure... just adding that it could be part of it.

Re: Another Vintage Team Car back in action
Looks good! Keep in mind if you make the tires hook up substantially better, you'll put a lot more stress on the drivetrain. I stripped an idler gear right off with a 5.5 turn. Chewed up the diff gear something nasty. Not sure what kind of track you're taking it to, but I always remind people to kee...

Re: 2015 Championship Edition re-fit Racer/Runner
Thanks for the update! Sounds like you got old school hustling pretty good! Have you had anymore issues with the Shapeway arms breaking? I ordered a set for the front and rear my RC10! The rear set of arms snapped apart on the 1st flex, the front arms took 4 or 5 before they came apart! I broke ano...

Re: 2015 Championship Edition re-fit Racer/Runner
I have the car pretty much what I would call 'dialed' without having changed caster or rear toe/anti squat. After racing back-to-back with both cars numerous weeks it's clear now that: -The car has slightly more understeer in general with the shapeways extended arms vs regular long arms. I swapped b...

I also run a shorty in my gold pan, but run the one linked below in my worlds rere... which should fit the same as the classic. They fit the bulkhead and battery cup perfectly and have plenty of punch for a 50C (as much as my other "90C" packs). http://www.ebay.com/itm/LHS-180532-7-4V-5000...

Re: 2015 Championship Edition re-fit Racer/Runner
The new replacement shapeways arms showed up last week and they are substantially different from the ones I had before. Maybe I will contact them about this... 1. The pin holes did not require drilling, the pins pushed through easily and they are perhaps even a little sloppy in the holes. 2. The sur...

Re: 2015 Championship Edition re-fit Racer/Runner
Am I the first one to break one of the 3d printed arms? I didn't get to do my ABA test, so I guess I'll buy another pair of them. Made it through a couple hours of practice last week including a practice where Dakotah crashed me on accident with his 8th scale. Today I ran two heats with three modera...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
Thanks for the feedback on the race roller. I take it you changed to brown/black springs and white wheels as well? Can you tell what changes, if any, were made to correct the common issues like: If they tapped the plastic nuts for the steering? How much clearance was there between the back of the sl...
