Re: New Schumacher Cougar 2wd buggy!!!!
noticed an SV on auction a few minutes ago as well as a Lazer ZX-R. decisions, decisions... Vintage child-hood 4WD dream or newer Schumacher... Leaning towards the SV. How easy is it to find spares for the SV these days? anything shared with newer versions?

Re: Attack of the Clones...
well, I'm still sitting here with a semi-finished once-more-tore-to-pieces-for-measuring-and-copying vintage car. I'm not contributing to the survival of the hobby as it is. I'm actually contemplating getting a chinese RTR kit (Team C TR02 Jekyll), give it some ballbearings and get a cheap battery a...

Re: Cougar Nitro 10
the pictures suggest a painted chassies. An anodized might wear but this looks like bubbled, cracked and locally worn paint. Either way, congrats on getting one :-) On a side note, this is the first time I've noticed a rather obvious difference in the tub flange between the nitro10 chassis and the E...

Cougar - digital PKE version (yes, this is a bit nerdy)
Decided a while ago that it might be a good idea to reverse engineer my Cougar. Just in case the time comes when a 3D printer can produce usable parts in a quick and low-cost manner. Or if I happened to win the lottery and could afford the costs involved in producing the tooling and making a few kit...

Re: Lazer ZXR series?
hmmm... I seem to recall there being a ZX-R and ZX-S (pretty much the same car but the S didn't have "gold" shocks or as much carbon as the R and probably a few more things that could be upgraded to R spec) around the same time as the Triumph? Back in 1994 or something like that?

Re: My cougar club10 nostalgia
if your not comfortable soldering new wires to board. I would suggest soldering new wires to the stub and cover with shrink tube. too much resistance in crimp connectors. simply hold them close together, solder and add shrink tubes? Done that before in situations where I haven't been as concerned w...

Re: My cougar club10 nostalgia
ok, an update. My bank account has a bit more money on it than I thought, so might actually be able to get something done. Then again, for the money that a controller, servo, tires, battery and charger would cost me I could buy a thunder tiger phoenix BXII rtr. And still have a bit of money left ove...

looking forward to seeing them finished... might have to reconsider my idea of getting a TT Phoenix in case one of these ends up being in my price-range (not likely though)

nice! looking at a set of cars, one of which seems to be a super10 (or GP10? I don't know the difference). Do they fit in any current class of racing?

Re: my old Cougar 2 works.
I'm a CAD jockey myself and have been thinking of making an adapter but have no idea how to get from a 3D printed model to an actual usable adapter... are you going to mold it yourself or have someone machine it from a solid block of nylon?

Re: My cougar club10 nostalgia
was left alone with my car and a screwdriver... DSC_0132[1].jpg Only a simple adapter plate needed to make that work (or drilling two new holes, except I don't like the thought of doing so). The motor sits way too high though so wouldn't work for a serious build. But it's an option if I can't find a...
