Very nice! Though that is not a TRF car. It's TFR - as the top deck decals say.
Very interesting slipper setup!

Small world. The good thing is that they re-re'd the Avante. Before that, I remember body sets going for $400!

Tri, your avatar looks familiar. I sold an Avante on ebay maybe 2 years ago. The body was painted red. I remember shipping it to AB. Was that you that bought it?

Re: First time with a brushless car...
That's probably why your diff is slipping leading to melting. The Stealth grease was made so the balls won't slip on the rings. Don't use anything else.
Plastic diff gears are fine. I'd concentrate more on properly building the diff.

Re: First time with a brushless car...
ok that's what i needed to know for the evader diff. As for donuts? I get a donut if I even touch the steering wheel on this new system once I'm up to top speed. As for lube and my diff, I sanded my diff rings down with 2200 grit sandpaper to make them smooth, put a light coating of Marvel lubricat...

That's a sad looking dog. I remember finding this forum because of my first dogfighter - you're in the right track.
I might be able to help you out on some parts. I think I have a full shock set, a hub carrier and at least one suspension arm.
Let us know what you need.

Re: Who here has a Sand Scorcher?
I would advise you to not worry too much about performance, it's a Sand Scorcher after all. That chassis flexes like crazy - performance parts won't do much if at all. I'd say put the ball diff in, add a 19-23T brush motor equivalent and have a blast. But it's your project, so do as you please. :P G...

Thanks! Yes, both pairs mount to drive pins.EvolutionRevolution wrote:
I have very similar looking wheels that mount to a drive pin. If these are the same, they are for the YR-4 and Y-10 (or whatever Yokomo's SuperScale Group C racer is called).
