Re: I really should stay on task and off Ebag
Actually...i scrubbed on the front shocks a bit with an old toothbrush and some "oil eater" cleaner. They are actually all platinum. They look gold from the dirt and oil residue coating! :) P1020247 (Large).JPG As for the giant hole in the roof, it's pretty ugly but I'm going to try to pat...

Re: I really should stay on task and off Ebag
I got this one in the mail the other day. Worn but servicable and overall a nice car, no major surprises. Which shocks are correct, front tor rear?

Re: My Pro-X project
A bit of an update: Re-assemply is stalled because i don't have any more of the right screws. There were any number of pan head screws being used where a countersunk screw head was called for. Please keep in mind that this is just a good cleaning and reassembly - not a restoration effort. Every part...

Re: Anyone polish a gold tub?
If you have access to a belt sander the scrathes in the bottom can be eliminated in just a few minutes. Don't worry too much about how it looks now. Mine looked like that too - thought I'd never get it clean! I did mine in small steps over a period of days so I wouldn't get burnt out. Did you rememb...

Re: The Cat Project
Not too positive yet but I thought it might be cool to update it with modern wheels and tires, a different, more interesting paint job. (I hate the yellow on this), some new oil filled shocks and modern electrics and motor. Sort of a modern re-interpretation of it the way it would be done if release...

Oh yes, the waiting can be excruciating! Especially when you know it should be any day...It's Christmas though and it may take even longer...
I'm waiting on an Optima Mid and another gold pan right now...

Re: strip paint off lexan?
Brake fluid works,but...it also clouds and embrittles the Lexan in my experience. Same thing with oven cleaner. Best bet is to save the existing paint job or buy another body unless it's super rare IMO.

Could be! I would disassemble the front wheels and look for areas of excessive wear.

Re: I really should stay on task and off Ebag
I think I would have found a different place to mount the ESC before I butchered the body like that. At least the cooling fins are out in the airstream.RichieRich wrote:Well, it has a giant hole in the roof.![]()
