New here, decided to pick up a used Gold pan
Hi all, new to this forum. Been racing on and off since early 80's, and I just picked up a rough gold pan because it was cheap, and I had a itch to get some of my old vintage cars I used to have. I had a new 6000 kit when it first came out, and many iterations after that, but thought a Gold Pan would be a good start.
I have done some aluminum polishing in the past, so my plan was to do a full polish of the pan for now, until I could dig up a nicer gold pan, or just leave it as polished. It is just going to sit on a shelf anyways.
My image hosting is a little delayed, so will add photos of what is on the way later....

Any suggestions for the stock nylon? Should I just try to clean up, or dye it a dark color?

I'd see how well it cleans up first with some Simple Green and a scrub brush first. If it still doesn't clean up well, then dye away. By the looks of it, it may be ok though.

Looks like a great starting point. I have a few of those myself...

I'm not too sure yet.....it has the stubby arms, but could be swapped out for RPM I guess. Chassis is all beat, so not too worried about keeping it nice.....Roadrashracing wrote:your car going to sit on the shelf or are you going to run it?
